Psychological
Psychological assessments provide an understanding of a person's personality and emotional well-being. A psychological assessment can help with clarifying a diagnosis.
Psycho-educational
Psycho-educational assessments offer information about a person's intelligence, school skills, and learning style. They help in determining if someone has a learning disability. They also help with Identification, Placement and Review Committees (IPRC).
Neuropsychological
The focus of a neuropsychological assessment is the measurement of the effects of any brain injury or neuropathological problem on cognition and behaviour. The main aspects examined in a neuropsychological assessment are perceptual processes (e.g., visual and auditory perception), memory, verbal functions, reasoning and concept formation, motor performance, and executive functions (e.g., planning and self-regulation). In the assessment, the examiner seeks information about the person’s cognitive and behavioural deficiencies and strengths in order to provide a rehabilitative plan and to offer advice on education and emotional support.
Psycho-vocational
To understand a person's work interests, work skills, school skills, and emotional well-being, we complete a psycho-vocational assessment. These assessments can be very helpful when considering changing careers or when dealing with an injury that prevents you from returning to your job.
Attention/Behavioural
Attention or behavioural assessments help to understand a person's issues with impulsivity, acting out, school, and inattention. We also ask for information from loved ones or caretakers to better understand the concerns. These assessments can be carried out with children or adults.
Rehabilitation
Rehabilitation assessments provide a full picture of a person’s emotional state. They also help to understand a person’s ability to cope with ongoing pain and physical impairments. These assessments are often required after a motor vehicle accident, workplace accident, or other events resulting in a serious injury.
